'Booster Gold-Blue Beetle' movie in works

London: "Arrow", "The Flash" and "Legends of Tomorrow" showrunner Greg Berlanti will produce a feature film teaming "Blue Beetle and Booster Gold".

Berlanti is being eyed to direct and Avengers' Zak Penn will write the DC shared universe's first buddy comedy, reported Digital Spy.

DC's Blue Beetle is intended to be the Ted Kord version, who inherited a mechanical super-suit from its originator Dan Garret.

Booster Gold - who often draws comparison to Marvel's Tony Stark - is a time traveller who zooms into the past to become a hero using his superior technology.

Both characters are being eyed to eventually feature in the two-part "Justice League" movie, aside from their team-up movie.

Producing for Warner Bros and DC Entertainment will be Sarah Schechter and Julia Spiro.

It's not clear yet where the "Blue Beetle-Booster Gold" movie will fit into DC's film slate, which continues next year with both "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" and "Suicide Squad".
