Gir's famed lion 'Maulana', Big B's co-star in advertisement passes away
The iconic Asiatic lion of Gir, Maulana, who also featured in an advertisement with Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan passed away on Wednesday.

New Delhi: The iconic Asiatic lion of Gir, Maulana, who also featured in an advertisement with Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan passed away on Wednesday.
The advertisement 'Khushboo Gujarat Ki', featured Maulana among eight lions.
As per a report published in Times of India, the majestic lion was named Maulana because of its looks.
He was 16 years old and was ill for the last 10 days undergoing treatment. Reportedly, Maulana did not lose his 'lordship' of the territory for several years and could not be dislodged by anyone.
