‘Flop Khan’ Salman in a super Rs 100-crore musical

It will not be an exaggeration, if we tag Salman as ‘Flop Khan’ as he has been delivering duds after duds. But strangely, this controversial star has been offered the lead role (not cameo) in a 100 crore musical. Salman Khan is said to be very excited about the film (probably he doesn’t have many films) and has already given his dates (of course he has dates!) for August 2009. The film is said to be a romantic comedy.

Mumbai, April 07: It will not be an exaggeration, if we tag Salman as ‘Flop Khan’ as he has been delivering duds after duds. But strangely, this controversial star has been offered the lead role (not cameo) in a 100 crore musical. Salman Khan is said to be very excited about the film (probably he doesn’t have many films) and has already given his dates (of course he has dates!) for August 2009. The film is said to be a romantic comedy, with a musical backdrop.
Reportedly, Salman has been signed for an enormous fee (strangely) by T-Series. Talking about the film to a news daily, Bhushan Kumar of T-Series said, “The film has a big budget of approximately Rs 100 crore. Salman bhai is like family. I will obviously want him to earn from the film and he will want me to earn.” “Our forthcoming project to be directed by Anees Bazmee. The film will be a complete entertainer (like most of Aneesji`s films) and will have romance, comedy and some really good music. We start shooting from Aug 2009 and will finish it in one go," Kumar said. Talking about the mega-budget, the music baron added, “See...the understanding which we have with Salman bhai and Anees bhai is that we will make a big film. As far as Salman bhai is concerned, he is like family. He wants that I should profit from this project and I want that even he should benefit from this film. Salman bhai is known for his generosity. He won`t let his producers bleed. The film is a big-budgeted film and the budget will be above 100 crores.” Even director Anees Bazmee is excited about the project, “Yes, I am looking forward to directing Salman once again after No Entry. We had a great time and bonded really well. I am sure it will be a great experience this time too.” Well, we can just say that hope it doesn’t turn out to be a mega flop experience. All the best!
