Guwahati: In a bold move, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Tuesday directed the state's Director General of Police (DGP) to register an FIR against Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for allegedly inciting the crowd during his ongoing Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra, which marked its 10th day today. In a post on X, Sarma said, ''These are not part of Assamese culture. We are a peaceful state. Such “naxalite tactics” are completely alien to our culture. I have instructed @DGPAssamPolice to register a case against your leader @RahulGandhi for provoking the crowd & use the footage you have posted on your handles as evidence. Your unruly behaviour and violation of agreed guidelines have resulted in a massive traffic jam in Guwahati now.''
