As the coronavirus pandemic continues to spread it has now effected more than 5 lakh 93 thousand people worldwide and killed more than 27,000 people. In India, the number of infected are 873 with 19 deaths and 79 recovered cases.

New Delhi: As the coronavirus, pandemic continues to spread it has now affected more than 5 lakh 93 thousand people worldwide and killed more than 27,000 people. In India, the number of infected cases are 873 with 19 deaths, India recorded 149 new cases on Friday.
Yesterday, in a press conference the Reserve Bank of India cut the Repo Rate by 75 basis points to 4.4 per cent and slashed Reverse Repo Rate by 90 basis points to 4 per cent as part of measures to ease the pain on banks and industries.
Also, the RBI governor appealed to citizens to not resort to panic withdrawal from private banks amid the country's fight against the coronavirus pandemic. India is under a 21-day lockdown period to fight COVID-19 and social distancing is one of the suggested measures to stop the spread of this virus.

Chief Medical Officer Ambala: Ambala has reported its 1st positive case of coronavirus. A 21-year-old man is a resident of Ram Nagar village in Patiala, Punjab, on Ambala-Patiala border. He has recent travel history to Nepal. He was admitted to hospital on March 26.
Government of Himachal Pradesh to provide boarding and lodging to students from Himachal Pradesh in Chandigarh at Himachal Bhawan there, after reports that students from HP have been asked to vacate rented accommodations by their landlords in Chandigarh.

BSF: A BSF officer who was posted as a supervisory officer at a BSF quarantine centre in Tekanpur, Madhya Pradesh found COVID-19 positive. He attended 4 meetings from March 15-19 where he met other ADG, IG rank officers. His wife returned from UK 15 days ago.
All officers and his wife are under quarantine now.
Haryana: 5 Coronavirus patients from Gurugram and 1 from Faridabad have been discharged today.
Central Industrial Security Force: A head constable who was deployed at Mumbai airport has been tested COVID-19 positive today. He was under treatment in a Mumbai hospital for last few days.
West Bengal: One female tested positive for COVID-19 in North Bengal. The person has a foreign travel history. The total number of Coronavirus patients in West Bengal touches 18.

Kerala reports its first coronavirus COVID-19 death from a hospital in Kochi: State government quoted by new agency PTI.
Railway will be providing meals to the poor at four locations i.e. New Delhi, Anand Vihar Terminal, Hazrat Nizamuddin and Shakurbasti at about 1:30 pm today.
