Bihar Lok Sabha election results 2019: BJP+ wins 39 out of 40 seats, opposition decimated

Counting for 40 Lok Sabha seats in Bihar concluded on Thursday with the BJP-led NDA winning 39 out of 40 seats at stake in the stake. It was a disastrous show from Congress and its allies RJD, RLSP, HAM and VIP as they managed to win just one seat.

Voting in Bihar took place in all the seven phases. The key contest was between BJP-led NDA and RJD-led Mahagathbandhan. In Patna Sahib, two-time MP Shatrughan Sinha was pitted against senior BJP leader and Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad, who won the seat by a margin of over two lakh votes. BJP’s Ram Kripal Yadav defeated RJD’s Misa Bharti, Lalu’s daughter from Pataliputra. Former Lok Sabha speaker and Congress leader Meira Kumar was defeated by BJP’s Chhedi Paswan in Sasaram. But the most important contest was in Begusarai, where Union Minister Giriraj Singh (BJP) registered a thumping victory over CPI's Kanhaiya Kumar.
