Putting an end to all speculations, Siddharth Das, who was reported to be Indrani Mukerjea's first husband, confirmed on Tuesday that Sheena Bora and Mikhail were his children, but added he had never married Indrani.

While speaking exclusively to Zee Media, Das, who currently resides in Kolkata's Dum Dum area, said that he first met Indrani, accused in Sheena murder case, in Guwahati and they both started seeing each other.

Das maintained that he stayed at Indrani's residence along with her parents and they both had two babies - Sheena and Mikhail - born in 1987 and 1988 respectively.

Further disclosing more information about Indrani's past, Das said that in 1989 she suddenly disappeared after telling him that she is going to Shillong to complete some work. However, she never returned.

Thereafter, Das went to Shillong to search for her, but couldn't find Indrani. However, more shockingly, when he returned to Guwahati, he was denied entry the house by Indrani's parents.

Das then shifted to Kolkata and started a new life.

He now resides in Dum Dum area with his wife and 16-year-old son.

When asked why didn't he inform the police about Indrani's past when the Sheena Bora murder case came to limelight, Das replied that he is happy with his family and wants to forget his past.

Later, while speaking to news agency ANI, Das said, "What is coming in the news is something I think she (Indrani Mukerjea) can do, for money."

"I want the death penalty for the people who did this," he added.

When asked whether Indrani Mukherjea left him for the money, Das said, "Yes, it is possible."

Indrani, wife of former Star India CEO Peter Mukerjea, on Monday faced fresh charges of poisoning and attempting to murder her son Mikhail on the day her daughter Sheena was killed more than three years ago as police suspect involvement of people outside the state in the sensational crime.

Mikhail had earlier told the police that she had thrice attempted to kill him and also spiked his drink the day Sheena disappeared in April 2012. Mikhail, who lives in Guwahati, and Sheena were Indrani's children with Das.

Mumbai Police Commissioner Rakesh Maria told media persons late on Friday that former husband of co-accused Indrani, Sanjeev Khanna has cracked and confessed to his role in the crime.

Earlier Maria had maintained that Sheena was murdered on April 24, 2012. Her body was found on May 23 that year after Indrani's driver Shyam Rai revealed the murder site to police.

Indrani was arrested on August 25 on charges of killing Sheena on April 24, 2012 along with her driver Shyam Rai and Khanna.

Khanna has been charged with murder, kidnapping, criminal conspiracy, destroying evidence and more. His mobile phone, laptop and passport have been seized but he has denied the police charges.

After interrogation, Maria confirmed that Sheena was indeed the daughter of Indrani, contrary to earlier perceptions that they were siblings.

Peter, a media honcho, had maintained earlier that he was not aware till the other day that Sheena was Indrani's daughter and about the murder and his wife had had told him that Sheena was in the US.
