Islamabad, May 11: Issues like Indo-Pak peace
process, situation in Iraq and measures being taken to
apprehend al-Qaeda and Taliban militants holed up in tribal
areas would figure during "serious" talks US Assistant
Secretary of State Christina Rocca will have with President
Pervez Musharraf and other leaders during her three-day visit
to Pakistan for which she arrived here today.
Rocca has arrived to hold "serious" talks on a host of
issues including bilateral relations, regional situation and
to review developments in Afghanistan and Iraq, Pakistan
foreign office spokesman Masood Khan told a news agency here.
During her talks with Musharraf, Prime Minister
Zafarullah Khan Jamali and Foreign Minister Khurshid Mehmood
Kasuri, she would also discuss the India-Pakistan peace
process, he said, adding that the "the visit is part of
periodic consultations to discuss bilateral relations."
The ongoing operations in Afghanistan-Pakistan border to
flush out the Taliban and Afghanistan would also figure in the
talks, he said.
After her arrival, Rocca went to Chitral, bordering
China, to visit US aid health and education projects. She
would return to slamabad tomorrow and hold her official
meetings.
