Proteas to keep close eye on Kallis during IPL

Johannesburg: South African team doctor Mohammed Moosajee has said that they would keep a close eye on all rounder Jacques Kallis during the Indian Premier League (IPL), who missed his final one-day and the final Test match on the New Zealand tour due to niggling injuries.

In the first instance, Kallis woke up with a sore back, and was subsequently withdrawn for the last one-day clash in Auckland. He also missed the final Test in Wellington due to a stiff neck. There is a concern that these niggles could again rise at any time. “He could again develop a spasm and has to get constant treatment for it. It`s due to all the wear and tear over the years. The MRI scan showed nothing suspect,” Sports24 quoted Moosajee, as saying. Moosajee said their physiotherapist, Brandon Jackson, gave the Kolkata Knight Riders’ physiotherapist specific instructions on how to treat Kallis during the IPL. ANI
