Darkness in Punjab as Sikhs urged to observe 'Black Diwali'

The five-day festival, which takes place on Wednesday, November 11, is celebrated by Hindus, Sikhs and Jains and is one of the most significant festivals in the Indian culture.Large firework displays are typically held during Diwali along with the lighting of divas (lamps).But this year, Sikhs are calling for a ‘Black Diwali’, to show their solidarity with Sikhs killed and injured in the protests last month.
