CBI team to visit Mumbai for probe into Sushant Singh Rajput`s death case
The apex court had, in its last hearing on August 11, reserved its judgment and asked all the parties to file their respective submissions in the case.

A CBI team will visit Mumbai to investigate the case further, the agency said on Wednesday. "The investigation related to the death of Sushant Singh Rajput is continuing. A CBI team will visit Mumbai in due course for further investigation. Other details cannot be shared at this stage," CBI Spokesperson RK Gaur told PTI.
Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh on Wednesday welcomed the observation extending full support of the state government. The Supreme Court also ordered the Maharashtra government to assist CBI in the probe since this is a court-ordered CBI investigation.
Sushant Singh Rajput's father KK Singh released a statement clarifying that only Varun Singh (SKV Law Offices, Commercial) and on his behalf Sr advocate Vikas Singh will be representing the family.
A meeting between Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray and Mumbai Police Commissioner Param Bir Singh took place soon after the Supreme Court ordered CBI probe into late actor Sushant Singh Rajput's death. Reportedly, the meeting had ended and it lasted for nearly 20 minutes. Maharashtra DG also met the CM.
Earlier, Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh and Maharashtra Ashutosh Kumbhakoni met over the same issue. Also, Mumbai police commissioner Param Bir Singh had an interaction with the officials of the Law and Judiciary Department of Maharashtra.
After the apex court order, the Maharashtra government is analysing the current situation and considering further options related to the case.

A Special Investigation Team (SIT) of the CBI will reach Mumbai tomorrow to start the probe. The team is in touch with Mumbai unit to make arrangements and necessary communication with the Mumbai Police. CBI will collect the case diary and related documents including the post-mortem report from Mumbai Police first.

Minutes after the apex court's verdict became public, Sushant's ex-girlfriend Ankita Lokhande took to social media to express her opinion and said, "Justice is the truth in action. Truth wins .... #1ststeptossrjustice."

On Tuesday, Shweta had urged for an early decision from the Supreme Court in the pending hearing for a CBI probe into Sushant's death case. Shweta tweeted to say that the family has been "hopeful and patiently waiting" for the decision.
The FIR in Patna was registered by Sushant's father against Rhea Chakraborty and others for alleged offences under various sections of the Indian Penal Code, including 306 (abetment of suicide), 341 (punishment for wrongful restraint), 342 (punishment for wrongful confinement), 380 (theft in dwelling house), 406 (punishment for criminal breach of trust) and 420 (Cheating and dishonestly inducing delivery of property).
"The whole country is awaiting the Supreme Court's verdict. I from the very beginning felt that he (Rajput) will get justice," Bihar DGP Gupteshwar Pandey to ANI.

Meanwhile, Niraj Singh Babloo, a BJP MLA and a relative of Sushant Singh Rajput, has claimed that witnesses in the actor's death case are being threatened and might be killed.
"Even after Sushant's death, the police behaved carelessly. There was no restriction on the movement of the people, the building (Sushant`s residence) was also not sealed," said Singh
Vikas Singh, lawyer of the late actor Sushant Singh Rajput`s father on Tuesday said, though Mumbai Police is a quite capable force, yet it has handled this particular case carelessly, reports ANI.
Maharashtra government had argued that Bihar completely lacks jurisdiction in the matter.
A bench of Justice Hrishikesh Roy would deliver the judgement.
The Centre had earlier informed the top court that it has accepted the recommendation of Bihar government for CBI probe into the FIR lodged at Patna by Rajput's father who has accused Chakraborty and six others of various offences including abetment of suicide.
New Delhi: The Supreme Court has pronounced its verdict on Rhea Chakraborty's plea seeking transfer of investigation in the Sushant Singh Rajput death case from Bihar Police to the Maharashtra Police on Wednesday. The apex court has said that the case will be transferred to the CBI while adding that the FIR filed in Patna was correct and the Bihar government is competent enough to transfer the case to CBI for investigation.
The Supreme Court also ordered the Maharashtra government to assist CBI in the probe since this is a court-ordered CBI investigation.
Rhea Chakraborty, who was in a relationship with Sushant, had raised questions over the manner in which the Bihar Police registered an FIR in the case and argued that the matter has no connection with the FIR registered in Patna. An FIR was registered in Patna on a complaint filed by Sushant's father KK Singh under sections related to abetment to suicide.
The CBI later registered an FIR against Rhea Chakraborty and her family in connection with Sushant's death after the Centre accepted Bihar government's recommendation to transfer the probe in the matter from Patna.
Sushant Singh Rajput was found dead at his Mumbai residence on June 14. Police said he died by suicide.
