Paris: Legendary Chris Evert has advised Andy Murray to appoint a female coach as the Scot continue to search for a new coach.
Murray, who is playing in his first Grand Slam tournament without a coach, recently parted ways with Ivan Lendl. It is believed that during Murray`s opening round match at Roland Garros, Amelie Mauresmo hinted at the possibility of her joining hands with the 27-year-old British number one.   Mauresmo famously helped unheralded Marion Bartoli to the 2013 Wimbledon triumph as a coach. Earlier, the 2006 Wimbledon champion and former world No 1 toured with Michael Llodra in 2010.    Refering to Mauresmo`s case, Evert said "There is no reason why women cannot coach men and they have the experience to coach a top player." The winner of 18 Grand Slam titles added that "It is interesting that Amelie went to watch his entire match. I can’t think why she would do that."   The only male player on the tour to coach by a female is world number 54 Mikhail Kukushkin of Russia. He travels with wife, Anastasia. For Murray, it will not be a first time receiving tennis instructions from a female. He and his brother Jamie were introduced to the sport by their mother, Judy.
