New Delhi: News articles that you read on social networking sites may not be available free of cost anymore. According to global media reports, Facebook is working to devise a way that will allow news associations to charge readers for every article they share.
Reportedly, the current plan is to charge certain fee from a reader after he reads 10 articles from one publisher on Facebook platform. News organisations have been asking for subscription facilities. Facebook's 'Instant Article' feature, which loads faster compared to the mobile web is free as of now.
Facebook confirmed the news that its 'Instant Article' feature may get paywall soon. As per a report, Facebook is in early talks with publishers about devising better support subscription business models. News publishers are also believed to be seeking permission for the right to settle jointly with Facebook and Google on advertisements and other issues.
