New Delhi: Luxury car manufacturer Mercedes-Benz strengthened its SUV portfolio in the country by launching the Grand Edition of the GLS.

Both the GLS 350 d Grand edition (Diesel) and the GLS 400 Grand edition (Petrol) are priced at INR 86.90 lakh (ex-showroom India).

The GLS 350 d comes with a 3-litre, V6 diesel engine producing 190 kW (258 hp) and 620 Nm of peak torque whereas the GLS 400 features a V6 petrol engine that delivers 245 kW (333 hp) and 480 Nm of torque.

The 9G-TRONIC 9-Speed automatic transmission, ensures seamless delivery of power, enhances performance and enables higher fuel efficiency, Mercedes said. Other features include Panoramic sunroof, Adaptive high beam Assist Plus, 4MATIC permanent all-wheel-drive System, AIRMATIC suspension with Adaptive Dampening System Plus, Smartphone integration with Apple CarPlay™ and ANDROID AUTO, Memory package for driver and front passenger, Parking package with Active Parking Assist and 360° camera.

The Grand Edition comes with black rings integrated with Intelligent LED Light system, fitted with 50.8 cm (20-inch) 10-spoke light alloy wheels, painted in Black and with a high-sheen finish, to ensure a stylish appearance

‘Grand Edition’ exterior badges and chrome fins on the bonnet creates differentiation and offer an exclusive character to the car, Mercedes said.

The vehicle's interior features a new heated 3-spoke multifunction nappa leather steering wheel with steering wheel gearshift paddles, 12 function keys and an airbag cover in nappa leather, instruments with modified details as well as a redesigned instrument panel with semi-integrated colour media display.

The GLS is fitted with three-point safety belts on all seven seats. In addition, adaptive two-stage airbags for driver and front passenger, side bags for driver, front passenger and the middle row seats (combined thorax/pelvis bags) and window bags across all three seat rows are also part of the standard specification.
