Mumbai: Luke Kenny, who was seen last in Farhan Akhtar’s ‘Rock On!!’, is all set with his second directorial venture ‘Zombie?’ and says he has planned two sequels even before the release of the movie.
"I am confident about the story. It is a story which has to be said in three parts. It has all the potential of a trilogy," Luke told reporters at the launch of his film here. This is his second film as a director after the 2006 release ‘13th Floor’.
After the huge success of ‘Rock On!!’, which was released in 2008, Luke has not only decided to direct but be a part of other creative roles.
Coincidentally, Saif Ali Khan`s ‘Go Goa Gone’ and Ekta Kapoor’s ‘Rock The Shaadi’ are Zombie comedies and they are expected to come out this year only.
As far as competition is concerned, Luke is unperturbed and says: "There is no completion unless we all are releasing our films on the same day."
Was it a conscious decision to launch the film in a college?
"Yes, at the end of the day we do not have money and face. So we want to do it differently. Rather than launching in a five-star hotel, we have launched it in a Juhu college (Ritambhara College). It was our conscious effort to try and set us apart from others," said Luke.
He assures that the film will neither be a Zombie comedy nor a Zombie survival series, rather it will be the journey of transformation and origin of Zombie genre.
"The film is a Zombie origin film. Indian audience will empathise with the journey of a human being as he is faced with a seemingly insurmountable predicament," said the actor-director who plays a photographer in the movie.
He is targeting both Indian and international audience with ‘Zombie?’, which he plans to wrap up in 25 to 30 days. Some parts of the film will be shot here and some in the jungles of North India.
‘Zombie?’ also stars ‘Shaitan’ fame Kirti Kulhari in the lead along with Luke.
The film is scheduled for a monsoon release.
