Mumbai: In a freak accident, Sanjay Dutt was injured on the sets of ‘Zilla Ghaziabad.’
The incident occurred at the Shree Madhusudan Mill at Worli, where Dutt was shooting for the action packed climax of the film with Arshad Warsi, Vivek Oberoi and Ravi Kishan.
Talking to a daily, a source said, "Sanjay Baba, who plays a cop had a cable tied on his hands and while taking a plunge, during the difficult stunt, one of the cables slipped upwards to Baba`s muscled shoulders, peeling his skin and also creating a huge blood clot in the end".
"It was scary, as Sanjay also got entangled in the cables. The action unit had to pull the actor out in safety," added an insider.
The actor was in pain, but pulled the scene gracefully without taking a break or retake.
"Dutt saheb was pulled down and given first aid, later the doctor was rushed on the sets to give the actor a tetanus shot to avoid septic infection," added another source from the sets.
"These type of incidents are passé, since there were lesser safety equipment earlier. We had to jump from tall heights, but now cable work has given us more safety, though sometimes such freak accident do happen," Sanjy said in a lighter note.
