Veteran singer S P Balasubrahmanyam to turn director

Kakinada: Playback singer S P Balasubrahmanyam, popularly called as SPB or Balu, will soon turn a film director.

Talking to reporters on the sidelines of the inauguration of a private hospital here today, the singing legend revealed that he has decided to direct a Telugu movie. "Script for the movie is getting ready and I will reveal the details soon," he said. SP Balu also claimed that an upcoming Telugu movie `Gopuram`, in which, he is playing a role, "would make the Telugus all over the world feel great". Referring to the `Padutaa Tiyagaa` programme aired on a television channel, which is providing platform to talented singers under his guidance, Balasubrahmanyam said, it was his "music college". PTI
