Inquest into Amy Winehouse death to be reheard

The inquiry into the death of Amy Winehouse is to be reopened, as it was overseen by a coroner who lacked the proper qualifications, according to officials.

Washington: The inquiry into the death of Amy Winehouse is to be reopened, as it was overseen by a coroner who lacked the proper qualifications, according to officials.
In a probe in October 2011, Assistant deputy coroner Suzanne Greenaway ruled that the singer died due to accidental alcohol poisoning.
Greenaway quit in November 2011, after authorities learned that she had not been a registered UK lawyer for five years, as required by the rules. Camden Council said that a new court hearing has been scheduled on January 8, Fox News reported. “The inquest into the death of Amy Winehouse had not technically been heard,” it said in a statement. Winehouse was found dead in her London home in July 2011 at age 27. Winehouse family spokesman Chris Goodman said on Monday that the singer’s family had not requested a new hearing. ANI
