London: Late singer Amy Winehouse will reportedly have a road named after her.
Her father Mitch has also been working on a statue to be put up in Camden, and her family has also confirmed there will be a docu-film about her short life. Now, the late singer could also be immortalised with a road named after her, reports thesun.co.uk.
"To think that our surname would be indelibly linked with London through the naming of a street after Winehouse is remarkable. We`re a London family through and through and it would be a tremendous honour if we do become a literal part of the fabric of this great city," thesun.co.uk quoted Mitch as saying.
Bigwigs in north London are considering calling a new road Winehouse Street or perhaps Winehouse Way in memory of the singer, who died two years ago due to drug overdose.
Locals in the King`s Cross area, which borders Winehouse`s old Camden stomping ground, have been asked to help pick 10 street names for an area being redeveloped for housing. And Winehouse`s fans have rushed to submit the name Winehouse Street.
