Mumbai: The producers of the Anurag Kashyap-directed ‘Ugly’ left with the film for the ongoing Cannes International Film Festival, but Vikramaditya Motwane, who`s also a producer, was left behind.
And with a good reason.
Motwane, who attended the prestigious film festival in 2010 with his directorial debut ‘Udaan’, which was screened in the Un Certain Regard section, is not allowed to take a single day off from the editing, and post-production phase of his directorial venture ‘Lootera’.
‘Lootera’ is being readied for a July release and the film`s other producers Madhu Mantena and Vikas Bhel took a conscious decision to leave Motwane behind. Apparently ‘Lootera’ would get a very low-key marketing and publicity.
Behl said: "Unfortunately, Vikramaditya couldn`t accompany us to Cannes because we need to get the post-production of `Lootera` done on time. Regarding the publicity, it`s got to be really low-key."
