Showman Raj Kapoor's 90th birth anniversary

New Delhi: It is the 90th birth anniversary of the showman of Bollywood Raj Kapoor. The man who has helped shape the Indian movie industry as it is today, 

Raj Sahab was born to Prithvi Raj Kapoor and Ramsarni Devi Kapoor. In 1935 Raj Kapoor featured in his first movie ‘Inquilab’at the age of 11. And as they say the rest is history.

At just the young age of twenty-four, Raj Kapoor established his own studio, RK Films and became the youngest director with ‘Aag’ starring himself and Nargis. He is known for his work in ‘Barsaat’, ‘Awaara’, ‘Shree 420’, ‘Chori Chori’, and ‘Jagte Raho’. An actor, producer and director, he has to his credit two National Film Awards and nine Filmfare Awards,
