Karthika Nair bags `Leela` with Mammootty

Thiruvananathapuram: Malayalam actress Karthika Nair has bagged the lead role, opposite superstar Mammootty, in director Ranjith`s new film ‘Leela’.

Earlier, actress Ann Augustine was to play the female lead, but she had to opt out ahead of her engagement with cinematographer Jomon T. John. While Mammootty`s character is called Kuttiappan, Karthika will be seen as Leela. Veteran actor Nedumudi Venu will be seen as Pillechan in the movie. IANS
