United Nations: Hollywood actor Michael Douglas has launched a campaign for children to express themselves in favour of the idea of an Earth without nuclear weapons.
The 67-year-old has urged children between five and 17 years of age to use their creative talents in drawing and painting to express their vision of a world without nuclear weapons, bombs or wars in an international art competition, Prensa Latina reported.
Douglas has served as a United Nations Messenger of Peace since 1998. The initiative was announced by the UN television system via a film message.
"Art is a universal language, which speaks to our hearts and minds and can make a difference," Douglas said.
