New York, March 16: Scores of aspiring catwalk queens are pleading ‘America’s Next Top Model’ host Tyra Banks for a second chance, after the recent audition in New York ended in bedlam.Hopeful models had recently gathered outside the Park Central Hotel to audition for The CW show, open to women under 5-feet-7-inches for the first time.
Lined up women ran for their lives, subsequently tumbling over barricades after an overheating black BMW sparked bomb fears.
The chaos landed six women in hospital, while authorities took in three persons for inciting a riot.
Hundreds were left facing disappointment after the audition was brought to an end following the stampede.
And now, the women have urged Tyra to let them have a second go.
"I want Tyra to realize that we were cheated, and it wasn`t fair. I`m tired, angry, hurt, confused, and I didn`t even get to try out," a news daily quoted Babyann Hernandez, 20, as saying.
Hayley Ayala, 20, who waited eight hours, added: "At least let me submit an audition tape after all of this."
But their idol declined any possibility of a repeat chance in a scripted statement.
