New Delhi, Aug 28: RBI governor Bimal Jalan, Bollywood actress Hema Malini and ISRO chairman K Kasturirangan are among seven persons nominated by the government to Rajya Sabha.
Wrestler-turned-actor Dara Singh, Pioneer editor Chandan Mitra, Hindi scholar Vidya Niwas Mishra and social worker Narayan Singh were the other persons nominated to the upper House, a Home Ministry spokesman said today.
The seats had fallen vacant following retirement of eight nominated members including actress-turned-social activist Shabana Azmi, nuclear physicist Raja Rammana and veteran journalist Kuldip Nayyar.
