Bahrain removing cleric`s citizenship will create `fire` in region: Iran general

Tehran: Bahrain`s decision to strip its top Shi`ite cleric of his citizenship will create "a flame of fire" in the Sunni-ruled country and the region, a top Iranian general said late Monday according to state media.

"Surely they know that the aggression against Ayatollah Sheikh Isa Qassim is a red line, the crossing of which will create a flame of fire in Bahrain and throughout the region that will leave no option for the people but to resort to armed resistance," said General Qassem Suleimani, head of Iran`s Quds Force, the Revolutionary Guards` foreign operations arm.
