Major fire in Central China as chemical plant explodes

Beijing, Aug 26: A chemical plant exploded today in Zhengzhou, capital of Central China's Henan province, causing a major fire, state media reported.

The explosion took place at 0225 am in the Henan Hengsheng Zhongke Chemical Co Ltd and over 100 firemen were needed to put out the fire by 0520 am.

The cause of the explosion is under investigation and there were no details available so far on any casualties, Xinhua reported.
