Who Is Oviya Helen? South Actress Whose Alleged Private Video Sparked Controversy Online

Tamil actress Oviya Helen is in the news for a private video that is doing rounds on the internet. Many allege it features her, but the authenticity of the video can't be verified. Let's take a look at some of her controversies and career highs. 

 

Oviya, whose real name is Helen Nelson has worked in Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada films. She made her debut in the 2010 Tamil drama Kalavani. Later, she featured in several hit films such as Marina, Moodar Koodam and Madha Yaanai Koottam amongst others. Her act in 2012 release Kalakalappu earned her fame. In 2017, Oviya was seen in the reality series Bigg Boss Season 1 Tamil version. She remained one of the most talked-about contestants of the season. She recently hogged attention for a private MMS video being circulated online, where some allege that it's the actress. However, the authenticity of the video has not been verified.

The internet is abuzz with rumours over a private video which went viral on social media. Some users allege that the girl in the video is Oviya whereas others call it out as another incident of a celebrity deepfake being circulated online. 

Oviya appeared in the Bigg Boss Season 1 Tamil version in 2017 and was one of the most talked-about participants that year. It was hosted by Kamal Haasan. Her closeness with season winner Arav remained a highlight throughout the show.

The Tamil actress was also seen in a Hindi movie titled Yeh Ishq Sarfira which released in 2015. However, her Bollywood debut never really made any noise at the Box Office.
