'Death for Pakistan': Afghan women lead protests outside Pakistani embassy in Kabul

The protest, led by women, saw them holding banners and chanting anti-Pakistan slogans.

 

"Pakistan, Pakistan, leave Afghanistan," a slogan on one of the signboards read. 

 

The protesters also chanted "Freedom, freedom", "Death to ISI". 

 

Some banners also read that they 'won't leave Panjshir alone'.

In the viral videos on social media, the Taliban is also seen firing shots into the air to disperse crowds taking part in the anti-Pakistan rally. 

 

As per the latest updates, there were no immediate reports of deaths or injuries.

The protests come days after Pakistan's Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) chief was seen in Kabul. Pakistan has been accused of supporting the Taliban in taking over Afghanistan. 

 

Pakistan's spy chief Faiz Hameed flew into Kabul on Saturday. It was not clear what his agenda was, but a senior official in Pakistan had said that the head of the ISI agency could help the Taliban reorganise the Afghan military.

Earlier on Monday, the National Resistance Force leader Ahmad Massoud had declared a national uprising against the Taliban and had asked Afghans to resist them by whatever means they could.

The Taliban on Monday had asserted that they will not allow any country, including Pakistan, to interfere in Afghanistan's internal affairs as they confirmed that ISI chief met the insurgent group's de-facto leader Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar in Kabul, amidst efforts to finalise a government in the war-torn country.

Meanwhile, the Taliban have claimed victory in the last part of Afghanistan still holding out against their rule, declaring that the capture of the Panjshir valley completed their takeover of the country and they would unveil a new government soon.
