Rio de Janeiro: Italian giants AC Milan are considering a move for teenage Brazilian defender Doria in the January transfer window, according to media reports.
The 19-year-old has been given a glowing reference by his Botafogo team mate and former Rossoneri midfielder Clarence Seedorf, Terra reported Monday.
The Rio de Janeiro club has placed a nine million-Euro price tag on the Brazil under-20 captain, who has also been linked to Barcelona and Juventus, reported Xinhua.
The move could depend on Botafogo`s quest to qualify for next year`s Copa Liberatdores.
They are currently fifth in the Campeonato Brasileiro, needing to win Sunday`s final match of the season against Criciuma and rely on other results to qualify for South America`s premier club competition.
"If Botafogo fail, Seedorf could bring forward his career as a coach and take Doria with him," the report said.
