New Zealand suspends extradition treaty with Hong Kong
New Zealand has suspended its extradition treaty with Hong Kong and made a number of other changes following China`s decision to pass a national security law for the territory. Foreign Affairs Minister Winston Peters said New Zealand can no longer trust that Hong Kong`s criminal justice system is sufficiently independent from China. Peters added if China in future shows adherence to the `one country, two systems` framework then we could reconsider this decision.

Democracy liberal enough in UK for defaulters to stay: Arun Jaitley
Finance Minister Arun Jaitley on Saturday said democracy is liberal enough in the UK to permit defaulters to stay here and that "normal" needs to be cracked, in an apparent reference to liquor baron Vijay Mallya, who is wanted in India for loan default and other cases.
