Clarke sets season`s fastest time in 60m

Paris: Jamaican sprinter Lerone Clarke clocked the fastest 60-meter time in the current season Tuesday - at the Lievin indoor meet in France.

The Commonwealth Games champion timed 6.5 seconds to win the race, finishing clear of France`s European 100m champion Christophe Lemaitre by 0.07 seconds. Lemaitre failed to better his personal best of 6.55 seconds. Mickael Frater, also from Jamaica, finished third at 6.62, Xinhua reports. IANS
