Mumbai: England fast bowler Steven Finn today suffered a right thigh injury midway through the first session of play in their opening tour game against India `A` at the Brabourne Stadium here.
Finn hurt himself while fielding and left the ground after bowling just four overs on Tuesday.
His fast bowling teammate Tim Bresnan told reporters later that he was not sure what exactly was wrong with Finn.
"I don`t know (how serious is the injury) what`s happening there. Probably we would get back to the hotel and doc would check him out," said Bresnan who was the most impressive of the pace bowlers with a haul of three for 59 in 20 overs.
According to an ECB spokesperson, Finn is set to undergo a scan and that will make clear the exact nature of his injury.
Meanwhile, Bresnan said he was pleased with the long stint of bowling he had today on what rival batsman and top scorer Manoj Tiwary stated as a slow wicket.
"Yes, it was quite a spell. After a month or so," said Bresnan.
He said he had no issues with the SG brand of the balls that are being used during the entire tour.
"They swing a bit earlier, reverse swing later. The spinners like it. It`s okay," he said.
Yesterday, India `A` captain Suresh Raina had said that the SG balls would suit the Indian seamers better
"There is a big difference in the SG Test and Duke balls. We have the bowlers who know how to get the SG Test ball to reverse swing like Zak and Umesh Yadav. It?ll be important how to handle the SG Test ball in humid cities like Kolkata and Mumbai," Raina had said.
"We also have (Ravichandran) Ashwin and (Pragyan) Ojha who have been amazing. The England team has good seamers like Finn, Broad, Anderson and it depends on how they can handle the SG Test ball."
