Yogi Adityanath to make maiden visit to Gorakhpur as UP CM, massive preparations underway

Newly-elected Uttar Pradesh Yogi Adityanath will be making his maiden visit to Gorakhpur on Saturday after becoming the leader of BJP Legislature Party. 

Lucknow: Newly-elected Uttar Pradesh Yogi Adityanath will be making his maiden visit to Gorakhpur on Saturday after becoming the leader of BJP Legislature Party. 

Since early morning, thousands of Yogi supporters have thronged the Gorakhnath temple, the residence of the Uttar Pradesh CM, to get a glimpse of him.

The UP Chief Minister is on a two-day visit to Gorakhpur, the constituency he represented for the last five terms as a Member of Parliament. CM Adityanath will also visit temples while performing a road show here. 

The entire city has been covered with billboards and banners for his welcome, while the local administration has provided adequate security.

The Chief Minister will be taking his road shows from Gorakhpur Airport to Nandanagar, Mohdipurpur, University Chowrah, Ganesh Chauraha and the MP Inter College grounds.

In last one week, Adityanath has taken several major decisions from banning illegal slaughterhouses to crackdown on cow smuggler and launching cleanness drive across all government offices. 

Adityanath was sworn-in as the 21st CM of Uttar Pradesh on Sunday at a mega event here which was attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP president Amit Shah and among several others including Samajwadi Party patriarch Mulayam Singh Yadav and his son Akhilesh Yadav.

Earlier, on Monday, the priest-turned-politician directed all state government officers to declare their income and assets (moveable and immovable) within 15 days.

He had ordered all his ministers to do the same after being sworn-in as the Chief Minister on Sunday.
