Patna: In a rather shameful incident, a 12-year-old mentally challenged girl was gang-raped by the principal and three other teachers at a school in Jehanabad district of Bihar

The incident took place on Sunday afternoon.

The girl, a student of a government-run Urdu middle school at Kako, was raped one by one by the four men on the terrace of the school on Sunday afternoon.

Despite being a holiday, the school was kept open on the order of the headmaster.

The incident came to light after the girl's mother, who is a teacher at the same school, found her lying in a pool of blood.

The victim’s mother has registered a case against the school principal and three other teachers.

"The victim’s mother lodged a FIR about the crime and named the headmaster and three male teachers. The victim was rushed to the hospital for treatment," Jehanabad DSP Prabhat Kumar Srivastava was quoted by Indian Express.

All the four accused – headmaster Ajju Ahmed and teachers Attaur Rahman, Abdul Bari and Mohammad Shakaut are on the run.

The incident comes a week after a Dalit girl was gang-raped and then brutally murdered at a government-run school in Bihar's Vaishali on January 8.
