Anurag Basu to act in a Bengali film?

Mumbai: Director Anurag Basu is likely to act in his assistant Abhijeet Das`s debut Bengali film.

Basu, who has directed films like `Murder`, Gangster`, `Kites`, `Life In A Metro` and `Barfi`, played the role of a doctor in filmmaker Onir`s movie `I Am`. If all goes well, he might be in front of the camera once again. "I am working on a full length Bengali feature film. I am keen to have Anurag Basu. He is a brilliant actor. He knows that I want him to act. But nothing is finalised... We are yet to discuss things in detail," Das said. Das has worked with Basu on films like `Life In A Metro`, `Barfi`, and ad and tele films. "He is my mentor. He is like my elder brother. I learnt the art of storytelling and narration from him. He is always there to help me," Das said. The Bengali film, titled `Golkata`, is about Karma and its shooting will begin from August. Presently, Das is quite excited about his short film `Khamoshiyan` featuring actress Raima Sen. It is about the affection between a dog and Raima. PTI
