Butler nearly drank himself to death

London: Scottish actor Gerard Butler, now a teetotaler, says as a teenager he used to drink alcohol heavily and had a death wish.

"I had gone from a 16-year-old who couldn`t wait to grasp life to a 22-year-old who didn`t care if he died in his sleep. Now it`s as if I never had a drink in my life. I don`t miss it," dailystar.co.uk quoted him as saying. IANS
