New Delhi: Unfortunate as it may sound, Ranbir Kapoor, Anushka Sharma starrer 'Bombay Velvet' failed to ring in a decent Box Office collection on its opening day.

According to a leading trade analyst the film has only managed a meagre Rs 5.2 crores at the BO and has failed to beat 'Piku' or 'Gabbar is Back's first day collection - films which are still holding their own in theatres. The film has done worse than Sunny Leone's latest flick 'Ek Paheli Leela'.

On the other hand, 'Gabbar Is Back' is racing towards the Rs 100 crore club - currently the earnings stand close to Rs 80 crore and it started on a great note at Rs 13 cr.

The period drama directed by Anurag Kashyap received mixed to negative reviews and it seems difficult for the film to pick up either as more big movies are up for release in the coming weeks including 'Tanu Weds Manu Returns' and subsequently 'Dil Dhadakne Do'.
