Amitabh Bachchan to play a Pakistani!

Mumbai: Industry is buzzing with the news that Amitabh Bachchan will play the role of a Pakistani national in Oscar winner sound designer Resul Pookutty`s directorial debut. For long, Resul had been toying with an idea which he now plans to present on-screen. Right from the onset, Resul was keen to cast Big B in his first production. Talking to a daily, Resul said, “I have approached Mr Bachchan for the film that I want to direct. The character is from another country. But it is not a political film. It’s an extremely humane subject that touches the lives of people on both sides of the border.” Pookutty, who bagged an Academy award for Best Sound Mixing, says that his old classmate Amitabh Singh approached him with the script of the movie. "I was completely blown away. I had to direct this film, and direct it with Mr Bachchan in the lead," Pookutty said. Insiders reveal that the film will be an emotional one dealing about the relationship between a father and his son. Meanwhile Big B is gearing up for the fresh season of ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’ which starts from September 7.
