The 36-year-old actress stepped behind the camera to write, co-produce and direct the movie about a romance between a Serb soldier and a Bosnian Muslim woman during the Bosnian Civil War in the 1990s. The film has now won its first accolade, being named as the recipient of the Producers Guild of America`s 2012 Stanley Kramer prize, reported E! online. The award is given to films which successfully highlight "provocative social issues" and has previously been given to movies including `I Am Sam` ,`Hotel Rwanda`, `Milk` and `Precious Based on the Novel Push by Sapphire`.
