Mass 'Surya Namaskar' programme to be held in MP schools, colleges on Swami Vivekananda's birth anniversary
The Madhya Pradesh government will organise mass 'Surya Namaskar' programme on Thursday in all schools, colleges and academic institutions across the state to mark the 154th birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda.

Bhopal: The Madhya Pradesh government will organise mass 'Surya Namaskar' programme on Thursday in all schools, colleges and academic institutions across the state to mark the 154th birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda.
A Public Relations department officer told PTI, "Surya-Namaskar will be held in all schools, colleges, academic institutions, gram panchayats and residential schools of the state from 9:00 am to 10.30 am on January 12."
The programme is being organised to mark the birth anniversary of spiritual leader Swami Vivekananda, which is also observed as 'Yuva Diwas' (Youth Day).
"On the occasion, inspirational academic and cultural programmes focusing on the life of Swami Vivekananda will be organised. Participants have been asked to gather at 9 am. A committee under the chairmanship of district collector has been constituted to conduct this programme in their respective districts," he added.
He informed that a message of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan will be broadcast at 9.30 am, followed by 'Surya Namaskar' and 'Pranayam' programme at 9.45 am.
Students from class VI to XII and college students would perform these 'asans' whereas pupils from class I to V will only witness it, he added.
He said the arrangement of direct broadcast of this programme through radio has been made.
