Vadodara: Three persons, including two children, were killed and eight others injured when their car overturned on Ahmedabad-Mumbai Express Highway on the city outskirts in the wee hours today, police said.
The mishap occurred at around 1.30 AM near Bhadarva when the car turned turtle after hitting a trailer truck parked on the highway, an officer at district police control room told PTI.
The victims were on their way to Navsari city after attending a wedding at Lotadiya village in Uttar Pradesh's Siddharthnagar district when the accident took place, he said.
The deceased were identified as Ramprasad R Lohar (40) and his two minor daughters Puja (5) and Rajni (2), he said.
The injured were admitted to Vadodara's government-run SSG hospital where the condition of one of them was stated to be serious.
Bhadarva police is further investigating the case.
