activities.

Laying the foundation stone of the Rs 25 crore
artificial lake on river Tawi, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah
said, "This is a gift to the people of Jammu. I am looking
forward to the lake coming up in the prescribed time frame and
boating being undertaken in the lake".

The 1,500 metre long and 600 metre wide artificial
lake is the first of its kind in Jammu and would be set-up by
the Flood and Irrigation department at a cost of Rs 25 crore
in a time frame of two years.

Omar also laid foundation stone for the fourth 4-lane
pre-stressed concrete bridge on River Tawi at Belicharan. It
would be completed at a cost of Rs 150 crore in three years.
