Srinagar: Condemning the alleged attack on journalists by security personnel during a protest here, opposition PDP in Jammu and Kashmir today accused the Omar government of muzzling freedom of expression in the Valley.
"This attack and other recent assaults against media
shows that the freedom of expression in the state has been
curtailed," PDP chief spokesman Naeem Akhtar said in a
statement here.
He said the attack on photojournalists was "outrageous"
and demanded thorough investigation into the incident and
punishment to guilty.
Three journalists were allegedly thrashed by police and
CRPF personnel and another was detained while they were
covering clashes between stone-pelting protesters and law
enforcing agencies in old city areas on Friday.
