Panchkula, Aug 17: In what appeared to be a toning
down of her charge against Union Minister Pramod Mahajan,
Madhu Sharma, wife of top police official Ravi Kant Sharma, a prime suspect in the Shivani Bhatnagar murder case, today said
the possibility of the minister being involved in the case is
as much as that of her husband.
"The possibility of involvement of Mahajan in the murder
of Shivani is as much as my husband (Sharma)," a visibly
composed Madhu told a press conference here in a sharp
contrast to hysterical remarks on Thursday when she charged
Mahajan with being involved in the case.
"Mahajan had close relations with Shivani then why is it
that he is not questioned by police?" she questioned.
"Even Mahajan himself had admitted knowing Shivani...
Despite that why is it that he is not questioned?" said Madhu
with one of her daughters Komal by her side.
"My husband was asked to go through a lie detector test.",
she said adding the police should also go for the same test
for Mahajan after he himself admitted knowing Shivani," she
said.
She said she sensed a "much bigger game" in the whole
case.
On the reported refusal of Mahajan that he did not even
know the IPS officer, Madhu said her husband would tell how
much Mahajan knew him before appropriate authorities.
