Free mobiles, set-top-boxes and laptops in AIADMK manifesto for Tamil Nadu and Puducherry

Perundurai (Erode): Incumbent Chief Minister and AIADMK chief J Jayalalithaa on Thursday released her party's manifesto for Tamil Nadu as well as Puducherry, whose Assemblies go to election on May 16.

Results for both the Assemblies will be announced on May 19.

Major highlights of the AIADMK manifesto released at Perundurai in Erode district include:

-All co-operative loans of farmers to be waived off

-Interest subsidy on crop loan to continue

-Free laptop scheme for 11th and 12th students to continue

-Students will now also get free Internet

-Free set-top-box for TVs

-Free mobile for every ration card holder

-Free 100 units of power

-Free Wi-Fi in public places

-Steps to be taken to ensure employment to one member of each household

-Financial assistance under maternity scheme to be increased from Rs 12,000 to Rs 18,000

-The quantum of gold for thali (mangal sutra) to be doubled from the existing four gram

-Rs 500 coupon for people to buy handloom clothes from state-run Co-optex during Pongal

-Creation of Amma Venture Capital Fund of Rs 500 crore to promote first generation entrepreneurs

-Rs 100 crore Amma Collateral Guarantee Fund to provide collateral-free loans to SMEs
