Bank manager held for seeking bribe in UP

Branch manager of a nationalised bank in the city has been arrested for allegedly demanding a bribe of Rs 25,000 for granting loan.

Balrampur: Branch manager of a nationalised bank in the city has been arrested for allegedly demanding a bribe of Rs 25,000 for granting loan under the Prime Minister's employment scheme, CBI officials said here today.

City branch manager of Bank of Baroda S K Rastogi allegedly demanded a bribe of Rs 25,000 for sanctioning a loan of Rs 3.75 lakh under the employment scheme, CBI inspector Zaheer Akhtar Khan said.

Rastogi was caught red handed yesterday on the complaint of the aggrieved loan seeker, he said, adding, he has been sent to the Lucknow headquarters of CBI after questioning.
