New Delhi: A Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe on Wednesday was reportedly ordered by the Kerala High Court into the much-talked-about death case of popular actor Kalabhavan Mani. It is being said that the agency has been asked to start the investigations within a month's time.

According to a New Indian Express report, the petitions seeking probe were filed by Mani’s wife Nimmy and brother RLV Ramakrishnan. The report further stated that the court rejected CBI's argument of not taking over the case.

It was being found out that two different poisonous substances were found in Mani's body.

Last year, Mani was taken to a hospital in Kochi from his farm house near Chalakuddy and breathed his last two days later on March 6.

Mani's untimely death, left the film industry as well as those in his hometown in Chalakuddy, shocked. He had acted in 200 films in Malayalam and other languages.Malayalam and other languages.

A CBI probe into the death was sought soon after the new Pinarayi Vijayan-led government assumed office in May last year.

A few of the actor's close aides who were present at his farmhouse when he collapsed, had undergone the lie-detector test earlier.
