5 more accused persons were arrested in connection with Jahangirpuri's violence by the Delhi police on Sunday. Further investigation is in progress, said DCP North-West Usha Rangnani.

14 persons have been arrested till now.

Communal clashes broke out after stone-pelting incidents were reported from the Jahangirpuri area in the national capital on Saturday evening during Shobha Yatra on the occasion of Hanuman Jayanti.

Some people, including two policemen, have been injured. Delhi police have deployed heavy security in the area. Several vehicles were vandalised by miscreants and police personnel have been injured in the incident.

A day after violence broke out between two groups in Delhi`s Jahangirpuri, nine people have been held so far, said police on Sunday.

Police have lodged a case under sections 147, 148, 149, 186, 353, 332, 323, 427, 436, 307, 120B IPC read with 27 Arms Act.

Meanwhile, the Noida Police is on alert and a flag march was conducted to create an atmosphere of faith and security among the public.

Delhi police officials said miscreants attacked when the police tried to handle the situation on the spot. Stones were pelted on the procession.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal also appealed to the people to maintain peace.

According to Delhi Police officials said overall security in the national capital has been stepped up in all the remaining 14 police districts of the national capital and technical surveillance has also been mounted to ensure no untoward incident takes place.
