India lockdown amid coronavirus COVID-19 scare: Day 42 in pics

The third phase of the nationwide lockdown began on Monday with considerable relaxations, as the pre-existing quarantine was further extended for the second time by the Ministry of Home Affairs for two weeks beyond May 3. However, governments are also keeping in place necessary curbs so as to not lose all the gains that have been achieved in the battle against the virus.

General MM Naravane, Chief of Army Staff visited various field formations in Eastern India from May 4- May 5 which included Sukna, Binnaguri, and Panagarh. During his visit, he also inspected various facilities set up by the Indian Army in its effort to contribute significantly to the nation's fight against COVID-19. He complimented the high state of operational preparedness as well as training standards and exhorted all ranks to continue the good work in these difficult times.

During his two days visit, the Chief of Army Staff was briefed in detail by the formation commanders on the operational readiness of the formations and other important training and logistics issues. The Chief of Army Staff interacted extensively with the troops deployed on the ground and took stock of the situation along the borders.

Delhi Police is doing it's best to fight against COVID-19 pandemic by not only maintaining law and order but also by exercising the best possible community policing. In continuation of the same, a Blood Donation camp was organized by Delhi Police along with the United Sikhs and the Living Treasure for COVID-19 relief at police station Rajouri Garden. A total of 37 Police personnel donated blood in the camp. By doing so, the staff had given a humane touch in the fight against the pandemic.
